Diabetic Complications
Neuropathy
- We are currently seeking volunteers with moderately severe diabetic neuropathy. This is a study of an investigational medication that may help to slow down or stop the progression of neuropathy. Half of the participants will receive the medication and half will receive a placebo.
Study Length: A minimum of 10 visits over 15 months
Target Age: 18 to 75
Benefits: All participants will receive study medication, physical exams, neurological exams, EKG's, nerve conduction tests and lab work.
Stipend: $2500 for completion of the study.

- We are currently seeking volunteers with diabetic neuropathy. Participants must have moderate to severe pain caused by the diabetic neuropathy. This is a two year study of an investigational medication that may help to reduce the pain. During the first year three out of four of the participants will add the investigational medication. One out of three of the participants will receive a placebo.
The second year all of the participants will receive the medication.
Study Length: 32 visits over 2 years
Target Age: 18 to 80
Benefits: All participants will receive study medication, physical exams, neurological exams, EKG's, nerve conduction tests and lab work.
Stipend: $1520 for completion of the study.

Kidney Disease
- We are currently seeking volunteers with Type 2 diabetes and may be at risk for future heart and kidney problems. This is a long-term study of an investigational medication that is intended to help reduce future heart and kidney problems. Half of the participants will add the investigational medication. Half of the participants will receive a placebo.
Study Length: 25 visits over 4 1/2 years
Target Age: 35 years old or older
Benefits: All participants will receive study medication, physical exams, EKG's, and lab work.
Stipend: $1300 for completion of the study.
