Diabetes Studies
- We are currently seeking volunteers with Type 2 diabetes and treated with a once daily long acting insulin. This is a study of an investigational oral diabetes medication that is intended to lower blood sugar levels. Two out of three of the participants will switch too the investigational medication and one out of three will remain on their insulin.
Study Length: 6 months and will require 11 appointments
Target Age: 18 and older
Stipend: $747 for completion of the study
- We are currently seeking volunteers with Type 1 diabetes and taking one injection a day of Lantus insulin. This is a study of an investigational long acting insulin that is intended to lower blood sugar levels. Half of the participants will switch to the investigational insulin and half will remain on Lantus.
Study Length: 6 months and will require 11 appointments
Target Age: 18 - 65
Stipend: $747 for completion of the study.

We are currently seeking insulin pump users with Type 1 diabetes. This is a study of an investigational device.
Study Length: 1 week and will require 2 appointments
Target Age: 12 and up
Stipend: $150 for completion of the study.
- We are currently seeking volunteers with Type 2 diabetes and treated with a long acting insulin. This is a study of an investigational oral diabetes medication that is intended to lower blood sugar levels. Half of the participants will add the investigational medication and half will receive a placebo.
Study Length: 1 year and 10 appointments
Target Age: 18 and older
Stipend: $50 for completion of each visit
- This is a study for individuals with Type 2 diabetes who are on a stable dose of Metformin alone to control their blood sugars. This is a study of an investigational medication that is intended to lower blood sugar levels. All participants will continue Metformin during the study. Four out of five of the participants will add the investigational medication and one out of five will add a placebo.
Study Length: 9 months and will require 10 appointments
Target Age: 18-75
Benefits: All participants will receive study medication, physical exams, and lab work at no cost.
Stipend: $480 for completion of the study.
- We are currently seeking volunteers with Type 2 diabetes and not on insulin. This is a study of an investigational medication that may help to lower blood sugars. Half of the participants will add the investigational medication to their current medications. Half of the participants will add a placebo.
Study Length: 8 visits over 38 weeks
Target Age: 18-85
Benefits: All participants will receive study medication, physical exams, EKG's, glucose meter, test strips, and lab work.
Stipend: $550 for study completion.
- This is a study for individuals with Type 2 diabetes and are taking insulin alone or in combination with oral diabetic medications to control their blood sugars. This is a study of an investigational medication that may lower blood sugar levels without causing hypoglycemia. All participants will take Lantus insulin. Participants will be entered into one of five groups. Four out of five of the participants will receive the investigational medication and Lantus. One out of five of the participants will receive Lantus.
Study Length: 16 appointments over 65 weeks
Target Age: 21-70
Benefits: All participants will receive study medication, Lantus insulin, physical exams, lab work, dietary counseling, EKG's, glucose meter, test strips, and supplies.
Stipend: $785 for study completion
